FINALLY....

Finally, the season has made its way to us. We've been through all the off-season and summer, working out like our lives depended on it, goin thru the weight lifting and running when it hurt and you didnt want to do no more; but u think to yourself this last one will give me my edge or that last little umff to push thru a tackle or to make a tackle while out of position.. so u push harder to run that last hill or gasser or lift that weight u been struggling with. This is the dedication and focus that's been put into making sure you're on top of your game and the game not on top of you. Now it's time for the big show. So the big show is here and im trying to get ready to at least get a taste of Monday Night's game against Cincy. I have been battling a high ankle sprain that happened vs the NYG. I was making this crushing block, LOL right, or a block on a DB and as i was driving him down the field a group of big boys chasing Mike Anderson like a pack of lions huntin for food came and the pack fell on me... I was like O MY GOD... Demtrius Williams came up and asked me if i was alright and I just shook my head and said "Nope". I got up, hobbled off and got the bad report... it's been a tough 3 weeks for me. Being injured is hard to handle for anybody when u know what u can do, but all u can do is watch and say what u woulda done if that was you... Well, I thank God for allowing me to b able to practice this week. It's still pretty sore. If anybody has had a high ankle sprain where u feel it up your leg you know what im talking bout.. I want everybody to get your popcorn ready cause its gonna b a great year... full of excitment and memories. God bless, PB08

  glad to hear you're practicing. the ravens are a team i'm anxious to see. great defense and with magahee coming into the fold and you on the verge of breaking out the offense could be more powerful than ever. is this the best ravens team you've been on?

  Hey Mark! I hope you gEt healthy soon. You are a class act. I hope you sign a contract extension in the next 2 years becase its guys like you that keep this organization classy. O and tell Kyle that if he wants to he should resign with us this offseason. I was so suprised at how well he took his demotion last year and I think he is ready to start here. Thanks.

  Get well soon.I played football on two sparined ankles.I used to pour ice cubes onto them before training and games.Sadly you just got to rest them,as I made them worse and they took longer to get rid of the grapefruit sized swelling on each ankle.

  I have been searching for ways to contact you via e-mail and I have finally done it. This is Branden Patterson, we went to high school together and I have spent numerous hours watching you play professional football, what a wonderful experience that must be. I am currently teaching high school math and coaching basketball at the middle school level. There are many times when students say that they want to go and play professional sports, and I have the opportunity to tell them it is possible, because I have graduated with one.

  As a former Athletic Trainer, I have been around high ankle sprains and know you will take some time to get over. Unfortunately, there isn't a brace that prevents you pushing off (pointing your toe) as that is the mechanism which puts stress on that ligament between the fibula and tibia.
