Bills RB Nyheim Hines talks candidly about becoming Josh Allen's teammate

Nyheim Hines joined the Buffalo Bills hours before Tuesday's trade deadline. On Wednesday, he discussed what it's like to go from playing against Josh Allen to now calling him a teammate.

Hines was acquired by the Bills in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for fellow running back Zack Moss, as well as a 2023 conditional fifth-round draft pick. Selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Hines had spent his entire career with Indianapolis, primarily as a pass-catching back.

The 25-year-old notched his first touchdown of the 2022 season in Week 8 and finished the 17-16 loss to the Washington Commanders with five carries for 20 yards and one score and two catches for 29 additional yards. In seven games this year (four starts), Hines has tallied 18 rushing attempts for 36 yards and one touchdown, 25 catches for 188 yards, and has posted 11 punt returns for 111 yards.

On January 9, 2021, during the Bills' 27-24 Wild Card round victory against the Colts, Allen went 26-for-35 for 324 passing yards and two touchdowns, while adding 11 carries for 54 yards and one score. Hines recorded six rushing attempts for 75 yards, one reception for eight yards, and one punt return for 11 yards.

Buffalo will travel to face the New York Jets at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
