Pereira: Why Di Maria flopped at Man Utd

Former Manchester United star Angel Di Maria struggled with the pressure of playing for the club.

That is the view of current Fulham and ex-Red Devils star Andreas Pereira, who is now thriving in the Premier League.

Pereira believes that Di Maria, who went on to achieve a lot of success at Paris Saint-Germain and with Real Madrid, could have done better at Old Trafford.

Speaking on Vibe with Five, Pereira said: Di Maria when he arrived from the first session he did. He was unbelievable. He arrived from the Champions League final being the best player.

He did the first session and everyone said seriously, everyone said we are going to win the league. This guy is amazing."

He continued: I didn't know what happened, it was crazy. He didn't adapt, and then the thing happened with his family, I think this has a big thing to do.

[I saw] a big player like this cannot play at United, the pressure is there. It's difficult to play for United and wear the seven, it's difficult."
